Another Modi

As usual I was watching TV news channels. No doubt in Cricket, Crime and Cinema making limelight in the media. The three C’manias has become integral part of our Media as well as public. That’s too big to write about here.

The fact that Media is not in its own control while handling these three Cs is very much explicit. Today’s hot topic in Media was the auction of Cricket players for Indian Premier League cricket. I am not writing about the subject of whether auction of players do mean anything awkward. Instead, I am saying about the way the media treating the issues, and the way they getting treated by the issues.

Yes, today Lalit Modi, the chairman of IPL cricket, was addressing the press about the auction of cricket players. It was a series of press conferences. Modi was about to start to speak, but was found irritated by the voices hearing from the gathering. He growled over the media men to keep quite. The tone of his voice was so aggressive that the journalists had to give up their inherent indiscipline attitude to keep silence. Whenever small noises were heard in between, Lalit Modi’s job was as simple as that of staring at media men, which results in total silence from that side. It was like teacher, student characters in a school.

What surprises me most is why media is so pale? I mean that why media is giving unnecessary priority to the minor issues and sacrificing its own self on en-route. The cash rich BCCI has gone to extent of neglecting media, because as Cricket is a great passion with Indians the media has to follow cricket inevitably. Today that was clearly evident. This is the same case with other Cs. Time has to tell, when the media is going to revamp its attitude.
