Is this a Brick in the Wall?

Mangalore has made it into the New History that begins with Gujarath, followed by Kandhahar and Malegaon. Yes, the new history is the progress of Hindu Extremism, albeit we are reluctant to accept its reality. Members of Sri Ram Sene ransacked a pub in Mangalore and beat up people including women in the name of protecting Indian culture. Ironically, these moral monitors proclaim that they revere and respect women.

One would find very difficult to deny the striking similarities between Taliban and Hindu extremists, or well, any other extremists of any religion. Taliban, though facing a rough weather from America and Co., still has sympathy and support from the common people. Similarly, Hindu Extremists, in all likelihood, could gather a strong base in people’s mind.

One should also note that RSS is not behind the Hindu Extremism. But, the men who are influenced by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in one ore other stage of their life, are the perpetrators of this latest vandalism.

Hindu Extremism has its root cause pointing towards Islamic Terrorists. Yes, the common people in India were fed up by the brutalities of Islamic Fundamentalists. Assault on Kashmiri Pundits, countless bomb attacks and other misdeeds from Islamic Terrorists made the strong Hindu population of India to think out of normal way.

Decade back, one could hear from the disgruntled common people saying that Hindus are spineless animals who don’t have will to combat terrorists. They were asking for Militant outfit of Hindus to counter Islamic goondas.

Now, these voices have become stronger after the recent Mumbai terrorist attacks. Bajrang Dal, Hindu Jagran Vedike, Sri Ram Sene and Hindu Yuva Sene came in to fill the void in Hindu resistance. Yes, definitely, the Hindu extremist outfits are the resistance power of Hindus. They are the results of long term desperation which began right from the partition of India.

In Malegaon, as the earlier investigations points out, the Hindu extremists blasted the bombs in the areas where Muslims are more concentrated, with the clear intentions of taking revenge against Islamic terrorism. The Malegaon case is a clear indicator of the path that Hindu extremism travels in future.

Another comparison… There is a BJP Government in Karnataka where Mangalore incident happened. We all know it clearly that BJP openly supports Hinduism. So… Sri Ram Sene doesn’t get any harm from the government. Morally, this BJP government cannot act against any Hindu organization.

Keeping the dilemma of BJP in mind, think of the situation that Pakistan government would be in vis-à-vis the Islamic terrorists of their country. Now, the clear thing is that we cannot expect Pakistan to take action against terrorists.

Islamic terrorists are using the word Jehad, the Dharma Yuddha. They are pretending to protect Islam and the unfortunate fact is that they really believe that they are the saviours of Islam. And the more unfortunate thing is that people believe in them.
Now, the Hindu extremists use the word Dharma Yuddha. They want to protect India from Islamists.

As a Hindu, I publicly condemn Hindu extremism. But, inwards, I tent to sympathise with Hindu rationalists. A typical middleclass mentality.
